For over 30 years I have been expanding in the field of Engineering. After graduating from UCF, I started in Civil Engineering with small and large firms. Then, as I had the opportunity to begin Linn Engineering and Design, I branched out into the private sector with Structural Engineering of residential homes and commercial projects. Practicing both allows me to offer a broader range of services that has grown us from a team of two, into a full staff of diverse talented people.

Respect for my clients and my staff is paramount. I always put equity of effort into meeting the needs of every client; large or small. Excellence is encouraged by the staff as well, and we promote an independent project management style that allows everyone the opportunity to grow and learn new skill sets.

I grew up on the West Coast of Florida and have made Central Florida my home. Here, I met my wife, raised my children and established my presence in the community. Balancing work and life are important to me. My family keeps me on the go with baseball, travel and of course dog walks. Lots of dog walks.

Yulia Hernandez is originally from a small town in Russia and came to the United States in 2007. Yulia attended the University of Central Florida, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. She joined Linn Engineering straight out of college and has been with us for over 5 years. Yulia has extensive experience in residential construction but commercial projects piqued her interest. She now manages most commercial build-out projects, with a keen eye for space planning and creating retail spaces that are both functional and beautiful for our clients. Yulia also likes the challenge of Multi-family projects and creating efficient layouts.

Yulia loves spending time with family and traveling all over the world.

Vincent Chaya was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in Southern Maine. Graduated From SMVC associate degree in building construction and drafting certificate. Vincent’s career started in the steel fabrication industry as a Designer and Project Manager.

Vincent enjoys the engineering aspect of his position such as trusses design, foundations, and steel design. The chance to get out to various project sites and work with some of the best contractors in the area.

In Vincent’s spare time, he enjoys small-scale modeling of sailing ships, cars, and SIFI models. He also enjoys hanging out with friends and trying new things.

From the heart of Kingston, Jamaica, Lorae Mattis-Binns started her architectural studies at the Caribbean School of Architecture at the University of Technology. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree, she honed her skills in 3D Modeling and interior Rendering and became particularly drawn to the intricate art of residential design. Lorae recently joined the team at Linn Engineering & Design Inc., and she brings a unique blend of expertise and passion to every project with a keen eye for the latest trends and innovations.

When not immersed in design, Lorae relaxes with episodes of reality TV and Korean dramas.

Doug Hurelbrink comes to us from Versailles, Indiana. He attended ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana, earning an Associate of Science degree in Architectural Engineering and continuing his education at Purdue University.

Today, Doug is a business partner, project manager, and designer at Linn Engineering, and he brings 27 years of experience in civil engineering design and construction with him. His professional experience includes various aspects of land development including paving, grading and drainage design, utility systems design and coordination, and construction administration. Doug’s strengths are best displayed when overseeing a project from its inception to completion, tackling the challenges that our clients present, and nurturing strong client relationships.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, embarking on adventures to different countries, and indulging in the sport of golf.

Gail Preset hails from the Midwest but has been part of Florida since the beginning days of Micky Mouse. Gail attended the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale for Interior Design, graduating top of her class. She immediately started in Retail Design and Space Planning for over 15 years. Then she ventured into home design with a Central Florida Home Builder before the crash of 2008 and turned her hand to independent contracting for custom home design.

“Creating art that people live in” Her favorite task is designing unique homes that fit her clients’ dreams and goals. She enjoys the interaction with our clients. Travel and Art are the lifeblood of her spare time. She is always trying something new.

Gabriela was born on the coast of Venezuela. After high school, she pursued a degree in Architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana. Following the completion of her Bachelor's Degree, she fine-tuned her education by earning a certification in BIM modeling. In Mexico, she worked in interior design for corporate offices with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

At Linn Engineering, she enjoys the challenge that comes with designing Spec Homes. Spec Home design allows her to apply her architectural knowledge with a little of her own style. Learning more about the engineering side of home construction has struck her interest and creativity.

Out of the office, you can find Gabriela connecting with nature on a long walk or reading, gaining knowledge through both experience and the world around her.

Jessica Robinson was born and raised right here in Central Florida. With a degree in business accounting and administration from Seminole State, she wears many hats in our office. Jessica comes to us with a career in small business development and management, specializing in “better, faster, smarter”.

She enjoys finding new ways to streamline our procedures and implementing tools to make our business run smoothly. From software acquisition and office coordination to coming alongside our drafters and providing support on projects, Jessica is a multifaceted team player.

In her spare time, if she’s not chasing around her 2 sons, she’s boating with her family exploring Florida waterways, collecting rare tropical plants, or on horse jumping courses.
